Our family has a certain routine. Not that we are very skilled at following it! Each day we have family prayer; attempt at scripture study, then each week we have Family Home Evening (Sunday nights work for us) - a night where we take turns teaching the family about gospel principals. After the 'lesson' we get to have a treat. A couple of weeks ago when it was Alex's turn he made home-made Nerd Ropes. I know, sounds strange, but they were yummy! He heated up a Laffy Taffy in the microwave for a few seconds then quickly rolled it in some Nerds. BAM. He felt like the coolest inventor ever. Everyone has their own take on what they want their job to be, it's a joy to see the kids develop lesson preparation, teaching and listening skills.
Monday is our family funday... I know.... corny. But it works. This week is my week, I'm planning a Rockband Tournament with a small prize. Last week Brett was in charge and we went to the $1.00 theater and saw Megamind in 3-D. Sometimes we go to grandma's house and have shakes, and others are just a game night. Either way, we try to spend time on that night because the rest of the week is C-R-A-zy.

| Dry erase makers make changes super easy. |
The "designee of the day" is the lucky person who gets to say all the call maker (when the family can't agree), gives mealtime prayers, family prayer.... etc. Each day that rotates, while the other three rotate once a week.
So far so good. I can tell the difference in our home when we actually hang out together with a purpose. Yes it always starts with arguing.... but ends with a feeling of accomplishment.
If you'd like either the .ai file or a .pdf leave me a comment with your email. I'll get it right off to ya!
