PDCC#119 - Color Splash - Hot Pink

Welcome to another fabby
installment of a
brand new color story from

This week's sponsor is:

And the color story:

This being my first dive into
the Color Splash, I have to admit
I had a ball.

This is actually just one of three
projects that I made.
I liked my other two,
but this one was my
FAV!

It's a repurposed spice jar.

Lot's of little details. It seems that
the smaller the project, the more I put into it.
Strange, I know. :)

First the heart: I punched several hearts, glued and stacked them. this gave me a "chipboard" type of piece to wrap the twine around. I simply placed a bead of glue around the edges and pressed the twine into place. Adding the greeting and button (shank removed) completes it.

The patterned paper is coated with white craft ink, then embossed with white embossing powder. I really like the look of this. The words barely peek through.

I  added a black button, satin ribbon and a titch of silver cording to finish it off.
Behind the finished jar you can see what the original looked like.

How'd I turn the lid silver? Good question.

Because the lid is metal, I was able to heat it up with my heat tool and then dip it several times into silver embossing powder. I held it with tweezers as to not burn myself on the hot metal. :)

So did I get your gears movin'?
Head on over to
and join in all the fun and games!

Did I mention the prize -
 drool-worthy baker's twine!
