Unscripted Sketches #160 - Sad Days are Hard

This weeks sketch from
Unscripted Sketches
led me to a sympathy card.

NOT fun to make,
but rewarding, or rather
cathartic in it's own way.

My oldest daughters best friend's
mother died rather unexpectedly last week.
She was only 36 and a sweet mother of three.
I am beyond sad about this.

What do you say to a 16 year old
girl who has to face the future without
her mother and best friend?

I really didn't want to give her a
"sympathy" card. That is just to
grown-up and depressing.

Clouds, a heart and some subtly cheerful
colors belonged to this card.
The recipient is still just a young girl.
The most fitting greeting that I own,
it is truly what I wish for her.
The heart coming out from the clouds is a
representation of the love that is just beyond
all the hard and dark times.
One day peace will be found,
I promise.

  6. That is a very difficult situation. I will hold the family in my prayers. How lucky your daughter's friend will be having you both in her life. You did a beautiful job with the card, Alicia.
