Mermaid Challenge - Week One

My very amazing friend, Kelly Barton and and I have started a 6-week creative journey of sorts. It can be difficult at times to stay on our creative paths and while Kelly and I have different styles and processes for creating our art - we feed off of each other, complain to each other, bounce wacky ideas off of each other and share in the happiness of creating some cool stuff.

For the next six weeks, we have challenged each other to stay the course and create a new piece of art each week. The following are the parameters for the challenge. We would love some cheering on, a little word love for our art if you will. If you would like to join us, please feel free to let us know where to look and we'll leave some love for you too!

• Subject of our challenge: Mermaids
• 1 painting per week for six weeks (we'll share them every Monday)
• Art piece must be square (but any size will do)
• Must use the mermaid name, descriptive words and color palette of the week to create the painting(names and descriptive words were given to us by both of our lovely daughters, Clancy and Lauren and color schemes were put together ahead of time by kelly and I)
