Numero Uno (not that I'm bitter or anything)

Really, I'm not bitter. I just have to laugh at myself once in a while. I often take the card/publishing think a little too seriously. I've been very fortunate with what I have had picked-up by the many uber-wonderful magazines out there. It really is an amazing thrill to be recognized for your work...

This is one of the many cards that didn't get picked-up for the Stamp It issue call. I'll be showcasing a bunch this week. I have to say.... I truly LOVED this one, perhaps it looked much cooler in real life. The green craft ink on the tree looks just like an old style chalk board. I cut the tree shape out with my Cricut and the Cindy Loo cartridge (be sure to do this on regular copy weight paper). Next I used the positive image of the tree as a mask for the By Definition background stamp, then the negative of the tree to sponge in the green craft ink. I added the outline for a little further definition. And that teeny-tiny grosgrain. Love it.
SU! Craft ink looks really cool on Kraft card stock

  1. This is really cute! I kept going back to look at the ink. It looks very smooth. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Cute card! You never know what editors are looking for? Sometimes it's a matter of a particular color combo or style to go with another project/card that was picked....doesn't mean your card is not pub worthy! ;)
